Needle-Free Allergy Testing

Our needle-free allergy testing system is completely pain-free and can help you identify and avoid environmental or food allergy triggers. Pediatric Allergist - Needle Free Allergy Testing in NJ

Allergy skin testing remains the most sensitive, quickest and convenient way to identify allergic sensitivity. Our allergy testing uses a special needle-free system that is demonstrated to be quicker, more reliable and less uncomfortable than other allergy testing systems, including blood tests. It is well tolerated by babies, toddlers and anxious adults.

Our needle-free allergy testing system is simply the closest you can get to pain-free allergy testing. Our patients are pleasantly surprised at how quick and simple our testing is, especially when compared to having blood drawn or the older needle-based allergy testing.

How Needle-Free Allergy Testing is Performed?

Needle-Free Allergy Skin Test is performed using disposable plastic grid devices that have tips that feel like a brush. Various testing liquids (allergens) are applied on the tips of this device to check for various allergies. Allergens can include grass pollen, tree pollen, ragweed, weeds, dust mites, dog or cat dander, mold, milk, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, fish, and many more.

Device is then applied on the upper back or forearms of the patient. Results are interpreted within twenty minutes by reading the size, swelling and redness of the skin. In the presence of true allergies, these spots will become temporarily red, itchy and swollen (similar to mosquito bites).

Immediate results with our needle-free allergy testing system means you will receive a custom consultation regarding your allergies during the same visit. These results are used to design practical, effective allergy trigger avoidance strategies that are customized to your individual needs and resources.

These results also form the basis for your customized allergy treatment plan that adjusts to the natural waxing and waning of your allergy symptoms. This allergy treatment plan empowers you to manage your allergy condition confidently using the least amount of medicine possible.
